Conservatory Roof Replacement
After birds had caused serious damage to this curved fire escape tower roof, we were tasked with the repair. After the initial survey using a high reach cherry picker, we provided an accurate and fair quote for the works and got the approval. Once approved, we gave our scaffold contractor the go ahead to erect scaffolding around the tower for our engineers to then attend and carry out the recovery project.
Our engineers removed the loose EPDM material and failed, rotted, boards before installing new 12mm ply, allowing to curve around the structure, fixed into the metal framing struts of the tower. Once framed, our engineers began applying the fibreglass system, using EPDM primer and wood primer where required and applying a 2 coat fibreglass system.
The end result is a lasting, matching and watertight repair which will withstand the birds for years to come, another happy customer and a safe, accessible fire escape.
Another great example of fibreglass, when applied correctly and appropriately, is a great roofing product.
